Home Inspection App in the USA

The primary goal of the company is to perform home inspections and provide comprehensive inspection reports to clients involved in real estate transactions, including buyer or seller agents and relevant legal entities if necessary. Currently, inspections are carried out on-site by inspectors, with the recorded information inputted into a web portal that is outdated and difficult to navigate.

To address this issue, we developed a mobile application for inspectors to conduct on-site inspections efficiently, saving time and offering intuitive design and experience. This allows inspectors to conduct multiple inspections in a day seamlessly and instantly generate and submit reports to clients.
Additionally, we created an interactive report for end clients, featuring user-friendly navigation systems for easy viewing of the inspection report.

Problem Statements

1.

Inspectors faced challenges with conducting efficient on-site inspections due to the extended duration required for completion.

2.

Users had to carry multiple devices for a single inspection, including various cameras, drones, iPads/laptops, and phones in addition to their inspection tools.

3.

The absence of advanced technologies integrated into the system made it difficult for inspectors to manage data and system functions manually.

4.

Editing reports proved to be a time-consuming task due to the extensive data involved, such as editing remarks, attaching external images, adding relevant tags and locations to issues, and describing materials and types of issues.

5.

The system was connected to an outdated legacy system, limiting the resources and features that could be integrated.

1.

Developing a minimum viable product (MVP) application to serve as a convenient tool for inspectors to conduct on-site inspections, adapted from a legacy web application.

2.

Incorporating ChatGPT to expedite and facilitate report writing, streamlining inspectors' efforts in formulating sentences or paragraphs to document

on-site issues.

3.

Consolidating all functionalities within an application, including features like map navigation to reach locations, real-time updates on scheduled inspections, image-click for report incorporation, enabling multiple inspectors to conduct simultaneous inspections and submit on-site reports, eliminating the need to return home to a PC for submission.

Empathy Mapping .

In order to get a deeper understanding about User Behaviours and decisions, used Empathy Mapping Method. An empathy map is a collaborative visualisation used to articulate what we know about a
particular type of user. It externalizes knowledge about users in order to
1) Create a shared understanding of user needs
2) Aid in decision making.
